About the Workshop

Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) and Japanese Geotechnical Society (JGS) made an agreement of cooperation to promote and enlarge the exchange of technical scientific and professional knowledge related to geotechnical engineering. First workshop was held in 2011 at Kochi and Second workshop was held in 2015 at Fukuoka. The third workshop is proposed to be organized as pre-conference event for IGC 2017. The workshop will focus on the recent advances and the developments that are taking place in Geotechnical aspects of natural disaster mitigation and management. Speakers from the India and Japan present some of the salient aspects of natural disaster mitigation strategies.
